ADR (Association of Democratic Reforms) and netapedia is running the web portal http://www.adrindia.org with the goal to improve governance and strengthen democracy by continuous work in the area of Electoral and Political Reforms.

ADR has chosen to concentrate its efforts in the following areas pertaining to the political system of the country:

• Corruption and criminalization in the political process.
• Empowerment of the electorate through greater dissemination of information relating to the
  candidates and the parties, for a better and informed choice.
• Need for greater accountability of Political Parties.
• Need for inner-party democracy and transparency in party-functioning and gaps in the disclosure of candidate’s profile.

As per the supreme court order in 2002, Candidates contesting in elections must disclose their educational qualification, criminal history and financial assets. The Site is getting information from the election commission and scans and uploads all affidavits filed by candidates thus helping voters to decide.

But the reach of this web portal is very low. To reach a wide range of people, the ADR has taken several other steps.

To help the illiterate citizens, the portal is providing toll free and sms services for getting the details of the candidates.
